Data model
One hierarchy, from partner to meter
Hierarchy
- Partner
- The portfolio owner. Each partner sees only their own projects; the system administrator sees everything.
- Project
- A residential site or apartment building. Contract details, management contacts and billing parameters live at project level.
- Loop
- The container for reading. Modem and M-Bus converter definitions sit on the loop, and its scope can be the whole project, a few blocks, selected units or individual meters. It is also the most practical way to set the billing scope.
- Block
- The physical division of a project. Units are attached to blocks.
- Unit
- An apartment or a shop. The usable area (m²) used in heat cost allocation comes from here.
- Meter
- A heat, hot water, cold water or electricity meter. Brand, serial number and first reading date are held in the inventory.
What the hierarchy buys you is simple: a partner cannot step outside their own projects, and a project manager cannot read another project's meter.
Loop is the flexible link in that chain. Modem and M-Bus converter definitions live on the loop, and its scope is built to fit: the whole project, a few blocks, selected units or individual meters. Both the reading scope and the billing scope are most easily chosen through it.
Roles
Six roles, six different screens
System administrator
Sees every partner, project and user; definitions and system settings live here.
Partner manager
Manages the projects in their own portfolio. Another partner's data never appears on any screen.
Project manager
Runs reading, billing and subscriber work for a single project.
Block manager
Sees the units and statements of the block they are responsible for.
Field technician
Sees only the reading tasks assigned to them, on their own phone, and enters indexes.
Resident
Does not sign in to the panel; reaches their own unit statement through a unit-specific link.
End-to-end flow
From setup to period close
The project is set up: blocks, loops and units are defined, and units are imported in bulk from Excel.
Meters are added to the inventory and attached to loops; the modem is defined and paired with the line.
At period end the reading is started; a field task is opened for meters that could not be read.
In the billing wizard, scope, period, parameters, extra charges and estimation are completed.
The calculation runs and is kept as a draft until it has been checked, then the period is closed.
The posting list is printed and unit statements are delivered to residents and management.
