What it does
NVS Modem 4.5G
Independent of management
It does not depend on the building's internet, its password or its goodwill. A change of management does not interrupt reading.
Survives network shutdowns
2G shutdown schedules keep advancing country by country. A 4.5G device is unaffected — the system you install stays valid for years.
Carries a daily reading load
Instead of one reading a month, readings come daily; consumption analysis, leak and closed-valve detection all come from that frequency.
Remote configuration
Reading frequency and scope change from the panel — no site visit for every setting.
Where it fits
Where it fits
Suitable
- Permanent remote-reading installations
- Sites where management changes often
- Projects where the building's internet is unreliable
- New installations expected to last
Not suitable
- Deep shelters with no GSM signal at all — try the Wi-Fi converter
- One-off field reading — the Bluetooth converter fits better
- Wireless meters — use the RF or LoRaWAN path

Questions
NVS Modem 4.5G — frequently asked
Do you supply the SIM?
Either way works. You can fit your own corporate line, or use it with a data line we provide; the choice is settled at quotation.
How is it different from the 2G converter?
Same function, different network. The 2G model costs less but carries the shutdown-schedule risk. For installations expected to last, 4.5G is the choice.
How do we know if a modem goes offline?
Last-seen time and signal level are tracked in the panel. A notification can be set for a device that goes quiet, and a work order sends a task to the field.
How many units does one modem cover?
The 60 unit loads on the spec sheet map to a unit count that depends on line length and meter type. Projects are split using loops, and each loop attaches to its own converter.
