NVS Modem WiFi

If the building already has internet, there is no reason to pay for a second line just to read meters. The Wi-Fi converter puts the M-Bus line on the building's network and readings arrive straight in the NovuSoft panel — no SIM card, no data plan, no coverage problem.

What it does

NVS Modem WiFi

The behaviour that finishes the job on site.

No monthly line cost

The building's existing subscription is used. No SIM fee rides along inside the per-meter cost.

No coverage problem in basements

Where GSM signal does not reach — shelters, lower basements — reading continues as long as the building's own network does.

No inbound port required

The device opens the connection itself; no port forwarding or static IP is needed on the building router.

Modem health is visible

The panel lists last-seen time, signal level and M-Bus line voltage for every converter, so a device that goes quiet is noticed.

Where it fits

Where it fits

The right device follows the project's infrastructure.

Suitable

  • Buildings with internet in the management office or shelter
  • Basements where GSM signal is weak
  • Managements that do not want another monthly line cost
  • Sites with many blocks — one network, many devices

Not suitable

  • Buildings with no internet, or where the password changes often
  • Projects where network access may be lost when management changes
  • Structures where Wi-Fi does not reach the meter cabinet

Questions

NVS Modem WiFi — frequently asked

If the building's internet drops, are readings lost?

No. When the link returns the device sends the pending readings, so the archive has no gap. Outage length is visible from last-seen in the panel.

What if the Wi-Fi password changes?

The device has to be rejoined to the network. On projects where management changes often, a GSM converter needs less maintenance.

How many meters can be connected?

The spec sheet says 20 standard M-Bus unit loads. On busier lines the bus is split and a second converter added; both attach to the same project in the panel.
