Commissioned in four steps.

  1. Charge the unit fully before going out.

  2. Connect the converter's power lead to the 12 V or 24 V output.

  3. Finish the reading and put it back on charge on return.

How long does one charge last?

It depends on the connected device and the line load. It is sized for a typical field day; for heavy use a spare unit is recommended.

Can it charge a phone too?

The unit's job is powering the converter. Carrying a separate battery for the phone is safer — you do not want power running out mid-reading.
